Holding To The Truth Despite Opposition – KCRC Online Service for August 30, 2020.

Do you remember a time when peer pressure made you do something you knew you shouldn’t? It may have been a long time ago, it may have been just this past week.
We as believers and the Church face many pressures every day. How do we as apprentices of Jesus handle the pressures that we face each day and stay rooted in the truth of God’s word?

This week Pastor Joe Groeneveld has a message from the book of 3 John where we see that even then pressures were present. Please grab your bible and join us as we are encouraged with practices we can use to keep our feet firm.

During COVID-19 we are streaming our services, this service now available for audio download only. Wherever social distancing finds you today, your kitchen, your living room, by yourself or with your family, you are welcome please join us……

And, hey, once this COVID crisis is safely over, and live worship resumes (yes, we’ll let you know), we’d love to have you join us in person for worship.
We usually gather each Sunday at 10am.
Don’t worry about getting all gussied up.  Just come as you are – we’re a church full of imperfect people.
And we’d be glad to have other imperfect people, like you, along for the ride! STAY TUNED – we’ll let you know just as soon as Sunday, in-person worship resumes.

Walking In Truth and Love: KCRC Online Service for August 2, 2020.

You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again. It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out. Matthew 5:13
In our walk as apprentices of Jesus, its not always easy to be salt and light to our fragile hurting world. How do we walk in truth and love?

This week we welcome as our guest, Pastor Joe Groeneveld. Pastor Joe invites us into the small but relevant book of 2 John. In this book John encourages believers to commit to the truth with much love in their hearts. There is a sermon study guide available this week. You are invited to download it, grab your bibles and join us.

Secure In The Storm: “When God Seems to Disappear.”

This past Sunday, February 16th, we picked up on the series “Secure In The Storm, wondering about ways that we can live well even when life circumstances are bashing us around and threatening to drown us. This week we wondered how to handle the times when “God Seems to Disappear.

Our starting point (but NOT where we finish) is one of the last things Jesus said while on the cross – a quote from the Old Testament: Psalm 22:1.

Relating In Faith: In Relationship Or Right?

So, we ended up doing some advanced biology this past Sunday – wondering about the difference between a squid brain and a human brain. There are lots of similarities (did you know that?), which is why scientists often use the squid brain to study human brain activity. But there’s also a BIG difference.

That difference between squid and human brain power is what lays behind a compelling part of Jesus’ great prayer in John 17, “Father, make them one.
This podcast challenges us to examine our lives, wondering if we’re more concerned with being right, or being in relationship with others.
What’s your life record in this respect?
What might Jesus be wanting from his apprentices?

You’re invited to download the podcast and the study guide. Grab a bible and open it to John 17:1-26. You may also want to keep a finger at John 13. Then follow along……
