Blessed Are The Peacemakers: KCRC Online Service for July 26, 2020.

What is Shalom? Rev. Neil Plantinga gives this definition: “Shalom is much more than peace of mind or the ceasefire of enemies, it is described as universal wholeness and delight, and reigning over all is the earth’s Creator and Savior who opens doors and opens hearts and welcomes all of us as children of God.” Wow!

The theme of our service this week is Peace, what the prophets called Shalom. Rev. Bernie Bakker is sharing God’s word from the text of Matthew 5:9: Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called Children of God.

As Christ followers we are called to be peacemakers and to work at reconciliation and restoration….which may be costly. Grab your bibles we also will be studying 2 Corinthians 5: 11-21, we hope you can join us.

We usually gather each Sunday at 10am.
Don’t worry about getting all gussied up.  Just come as you are – we’re a church full of imperfect people.
And we’d be glad to have other imperfect people, like you, along for the ride! STAY TUNED – we’ll let you know just as soon as Sunday, in-person worship resumes.

Palm Sunday “A Strange Parade” KCRC Online Worship Service for April 5, 2020

You are invited to join in as we check out a rather strange parade, with Jesus as the star. But why a parade like this? What were the people thinking as they celebrated? And what about the cranky types who wanted to shut it down?

AND… why in the world should we, today, pay any attention to an event from way back when? Grab a Bible, we are reading today from Luke 19:28-44.

Called By Jesus…. To Peace

Remember a time when you got angry? Or felt hurt by someone – unjustly so? Or got ripped off, and found yourself laying awake at night, trying to figure out how to get even?
If Jesus was your life coach, how do you think he’d have been directing you during those moments?

This past Sunday we read Luke 6:17-38 – where Jesus teaches exactly on this topic. How to respond to people who aren’t exactly on our warm-and-fuzzy side.
We went there as part of our visioning series, wondering about what Jesus might want us to focus on as individuals and as a community, as we move towards 2020.

You’re invited to download the podcast and the study guide. Grab a bible. Then follow along……
